Rock’s Cool Terms and Conditions
Last updated: Nov 2025
By enrolling your child with Rock’s Cool Ltd., you agree to the terms below. Our aim is to keep everything friendly, transparent, and easy to understand.
About the Service
Rock’s Cool provides a subscription-based music education programme for children aged 4–11.
Lessons usually take place during the school day. Occasionally, they may be scheduled before or after school if needed.
All staff hold up-to-date DBS checks and safeguarding training.
We provide all necessary lesson equipment. Pupils may bring their own instrument at their own risk unless damage is caused by our negligence.
Lesson Delivery
If your child enrols for a full school year, we aim to deliver a minimum of 35 lessons, or 32 lessons + 3 performances.
A typical school year offers 38–39 possible weeks, so the minimum already includes an allowance for staff illness or school-related disruptions.
If your child joins mid-year, their lesson target will be adjusted proportionally.
Missed Lessons
We do not make up or refund lessons missed because of:
Pupil absence (illness, appointments, holidays, etc.)
School-organised activities (school trips, sports days, events, timetable changes)
School closures or restrictions outside our control
If Rock’s Cool is responsible for a missed lesson (e.g., teacher absence), that lesson does not count toward your minimum quota.
Instrument Changes
Your child usually keeps one instrument for a learning cycle to support progress.
Instrument changes may be requested at any time; we’ll accommodate them if we can.
Enrolment & Acceptance
When you submit an enrolment request, we review it and confirm when the subscription begins.
In rare cases, we may decline an application (e.g., incorrect pricing, location limitations, payment issues). Any payment already made would be refunded.
Payments
Payments are made monthly by GoCardless direct debit.
The first payment (enrolment fee + part-month fee) is taken via Instant Bank Pay.
Regular payments are taken on the 1st of each month over an 11-month cycle (no payment in August).
Monthly payments remain the same regardless of how many lessons fall within that specific month.
Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
You may request a change to your payment date at any time.
Cooling-Off Period
You have a 14-day cooling-off period from signing up.
If lessons have not yet begun, you may cancel for a full refund.
Once lessons start, normal cancellation rules apply.
Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel at any time by emailing contact@rocks-cool.co.uk.
If you cancel on or before the 20th, your subscription ends immediately.
If you cancel after the 20th, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the next calendar month.
Lessons already paid for will continue until the end of the paid period.
Service Changes & Suspensions
Minor changes may be made for operational or legal reasons (these won’t affect your use).
Major changes will be communicated in advance, giving you the option to cancel.
If we must suspend lessons (technical/legal/operational reasons), we will notify you.
If suspension exceeds 60 days in a year, we’ll adjust fees or provide credits.
If we must withdraw the service from a particular school, we’ll give at least 21 days’ notice and refund any undelivered lessons.
When We May End or Suspend Your Access
If payments fail or essential information is not provided, we may suspend or cancel your subscription after reasonable notice.
Serious misuse of the service may result in immediate suspension or termination.
Liability
We provide lessons with reasonable care and skill.
We are not liable for:
School-related cancellations outside our control
Missed lessons due to pupil absence
Losses not caused by our actions
Losses related to business or commercial use
Our liability is limited to the amount paid in the previous 6 months, except where the law prevents limitation (e.g., injury caused by negligence).
Your Responsibility
If your actions cause loss to Rock’s Cool (e.g., misuse of service), you may be responsible for those losses — but not for anything caused by our own errors or negligence.
Data Protection
We process personal information in accordance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For full details, please see our Privacy Policy on our website.
General Legal Information
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If one part becomes invalid, the rest still applies.
We may transfer our rights to another organisation, but this won’t affect your rights.
You may only transfer your agreement with our permission.
Not enforcing a right immediately does not waive that right.
